Information on Palm Treo 700

Palm dominated the world of PDA technology after they introduced Palm Treo. And recently, the company has released their latest product, the Palm Treo 700, which runs on Windows OS.
Palm Treo 700's design is pretty much the same as the Treo 650 but a bit heavier. The most noticeable changes made on the Treo 700 are the replacement of the contact and calendar buttons with the Windows button and the OK button, the shape of the directional pad and the lack of keypad labels.
The rocker located on the left side is replaced with two buttons. The QWERTY-style keyboard is a bit too "square" compared to the Treo 650 but all features in terms of hardware are still present. It still has the barrel stylus and the mute button. The screen size of the Palm Treo 700 is the same with the Treo 650 although the resolution is a bit lower. Nevertheless, the color is still bright.
Some of the best features of the Palm Treo 700 are the connectivity options. It still has the same IR (infrared) and SDIO (Secure Digital Input/Output) ports as well as the MultiConnector port that is present in Treo 650. Furthermore, the Treo 700 is compatible with many different accessories although drivers are required.
On the wireless aspect of the device, the Treo 700 supports dual-band EV-DO wireless connectivity (800/1900 MHz CDMA radio frequency)

Le Palm Treo800w chez Sprint
Le Tréo800w n'est plus une rumeur et c'est Patrice qui nous apprend qu'il est distribué par l'opérateur américain Sprint. Ce nouveau Tréo sous Windows Mobile 6.1 Professionel propose un écran tactile d'une résolution de 320x320 pixels, est wifi et bluetooth 2.0, possède un apn 2 MP ainsi qu'un GPS... In addition, the Treo 700 also supports Bluetooth® connectivity. Also, Palm claims that the Treo 700 is Wi-Fi ready because of its built-in Wi-Fi adapter.

The Treo 700 is powered by Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0.2. However, Palm made some changes on the OS. Probably the biggest change made by Palm is the combination of the Call screen and the Today screen that is now present in the Call button.
The integration of the two buttons was favored by a lot of users because it allows one-finger dialing. In addition, the Palm Treo 700 also has an on-screen speed dialing based either on letters or numbers as well as an optional speed-dialing based on photos with thumbnails. This is used for contacts that do not have an assigned photo.
